Dissociation

A sense of disconnect between one's thoughts, feelings, memories, and sense of identity

Dissociation is a mental health disorder category that includes symptoms- individuals disconnect from their thought processes, feelings, memories, or personality. At the same time, dissociative disorders include diseases like- dissociative amnesia, depersonalization, etc. Both are usually seen in patients who have a history of traumatic events.   • Memory loss of specific periods, events, people, and personal information.
  • Sense of detachment from the individual and emotions.
  • Blurred sense of identity.
  • Significant stress or problems in relationships.
  • Trouble managing emotional or professional stress.
  • Mental health problems include depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts and behaviors.

THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS CAN CAUSE Dissociation

The patient may not require medications, and the disorder may resolve on its own. However, treatment is necessary in severe cases.
