Obsessive-compulsive disorder

Mental disorders characterized by recurring thoughts or sensations (obsessions) or urge to repeat actions (compulsions)

Obsessive-Compulsive disorder comprises a pattern of fears or obsessions and unwanted thoughts that can lead an individual to repetitive actions, called compulsions. For instance, the obsession or fear can be fear of germs, and the compulsion is to wash the hands several times till the skin becomes chapped and sore. Even though they try to control themselves by not doing those obsessions, it leads to anxiety.

THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS CAN CAUSE Obsessive-compulsive disorder

  • Compulsive Disorder usually includes both obsessions and Compulsions.
  • It is also possible that one can have obsessive signs or compulsive
  • Symptoms only.
  • The causes of OCD are genetics, learning, and biology.

THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS CAN CAUSE Obsessive-compulsive disorder

One may have both obsession symptoms and compulsion symptoms, but it is also possible to have only one of them. Obsessions include fear of dirt or contamination, trouble tolerating uncertainty, the requirement of things in order and symmetry, unwanted thoughts of religious subjects, sexual subjects, aggression, and horrific thoughts about harming oneself or others and losing control.
